Designing your bathroom Part 7 - Showers

In designing your bathroom part 7 we look at showering options for your bathroom.
The Bath/Shower Mixer Tap
The simplest and most affordable showering option is the bath/shower mixer tap. If you want to keep costs down and double up your bath as a shower enclosure, then the bath/shower mixer is the easiest and cheapest option. You won't have the best showering experience, as the power a tap produces won't be anywhere as near as effective as an electric shower or a shower value unit but it will work. Usually bath/shower mixer taps come with a shower head holder, you might want to invest in a riser rail to hold the headset on the wall.
The Electric Shower
An old classic brought to life with modern technology and design. With new shower value technology, the electric shower (once the shower in every home), has taken a back seat. However
the electric shower is a reliable choice and with companies like Triton striving to make this once ugly box on your wall an attractive modern beauty, the electric shower is still very much alive!
Shower Valves
Thermostatic shower valves
offer a sleek modern minimalist look with endless options for shower head functions all in one tiny controller. Values will usually have two small dials- one to adjust the power
of the water flow and the other to adjust temperature and if you fancy having a couple of different shower heads, just add an extra dial to divert water between the two.

Choose from an exposed value (pictured below) for a more tradition look or concealed valve (pictured above) for a modern minimalist look. With concealed values you can choose any head you like- adjustable heads with hose and riser rail (pictured below) and/or fixed heads (pictured above) on arms fixed to wall or ceiling.
